Growing up with music
Nao lived in Dakar until the age of 18 and started learning piano at four. His father, a pianist and festival founder, introduced him to a musical environment that helped shape his ear for rhythm and melody.
DJing and production
Nao began working in the Kizomba and Afro-Caribbean dance scene in 2016, first as a DJ and later as a producer. His sets and collaborations draw on influences from West Africa and Portuguese-speaking African countries.
An evolving sound
Alongside international touring, Nao has performed at venues including Spirito, Jalousy, Imperial and Ampere. His wider musical work is also developing toward Afro House and Afro Tech.
